I began my career with the Retirement Benefits Group, a division of Equitable Advisors, LLC in 2004 and have been a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ since 2013.
As a financial professional, I focus on working with clients to achieve their goals by identifying their purpose, following our process, and implementing solutions that allow them to live life with their family. Our process of purpose based financial planning, allows clients to identify and communicate where they are in their lives and where they are trying to go. We use our information and tools to assess a client's risk tolerance and develop a customized plan that serves as a blueprint and road map to achieve their financial goals. Once established, we continually monitor the plan and clients changing lives and goals. I believe investing based on purpose and goals, over the long term, empowers clients to make sound financial decisions and feel confident in the choices they have made.

Mark Vandzura

From an early age I learned the value of hard work, starting at age 15 when I got my first job to help my family pay their mortgage. My focus had always been on earning an income and even after graduating from college I was still unsure of what I wanted to do for a career. I had a variety of jobs ranging from Human Resources to sales, ultimately finding my way to personal finance and asset management. What I learned though this journey were two underlying truths…First, I am a very analytical person that is good with numbers. Second, I enjoy helping people. Becoming a financial advisor seemed like a natural intersection of those skills. After spending much of my early time as an advisor working with high net worth and institutional clients, I felt my skills would be better used working with people who shared my more modest upbringing. As a result, I decided to join Equitable, which gave me the opportunity to work with public educators and municipal workers. The next evolution of this journey is the creation of Eagle Point, which has allowed me to partner with a group of like-minded individuals and expand the services that we can provide to help our clients achieve their financial goals.

At a very early age, I remember admiring my parents ability to stretch a dollar as far as it could go to provide for our family. Even though as a child you don’t fully understand money, my parents taught me that its not what you make, its what you keep that matters most. My father explained that saving money and investing was the best way to ensure security for down the road.
Fast forward to college where I knew I wanted to pursue a business degree, but wasn’t entirely sold of the idea on “finance” opposed to other areas like management and marketing. With a strong math background and being extremely social and outgoing, I quickly realized that finance and I fit well together. After graduating, I knew I wanted to do something that involved people and money.
In 2006, I had begun my career in finance and I found Equitable. I loved the training and education I would receive before going out into the field to see clients. The Equitable RBG focused on retirement planning for educators throughout the state and I realized that it was a great opportunity to help a group that so selflessly gave to their students.
Aligning with other like-minded advisors who shared my core values, we formed Eagle Point to provide a superior experience for our clients by offering comprehensive client-focused service with an emphasis on education first. With that, we know we can help our clients achieve financial success and freedom.

Before moving into finance, I started my career as a teacher. Early on, someone asked me a simple question: was I saving for my financial future? At 22, I hadn’t really thought about it—but that conversation encouraged me to start a retirement account. Although I later left education for personal reasons, that early step stuck with me and showed me how impactful the right conversation at the right time can be.
Today at Equitable, that experience drives the work I do with clients. I enjoy helping people as they start thinking about their financial future and sharing the same kind of guidance that once made a difference for me.
